East End Local

CAST -  Every other Monday from 3:00PM - 6:00PM, CAST’s refrigerated van comes to the firehouse at 61 Cobbett's Lane.  They distribute meats, vegetables, fruit, bread, etc.  In addition to food, they have a Spanish speaking resource person who can work with patrons to apply for entitlements and identify other social services that might be of use.

Family Service League – Mental Health Counseling

DASH - Diagnostic, Assessment, and Stabilization Hub - The program features a mobile response team of licensed professional experts who will come to your community and conduct an assessment, develop a safety plan, and if necessary, recommend outpatient services or a higher level of care.

OLA of Eastern Long Island - Nonprofit Latino-focused advocacy organization.

Lion’s Club – Provides support for youth and adults on Shelter Island through the Lions Clubs International Foundation. Part of their purpose is to fundraise and distribute those funds to Shelter Island Residents.

Gift of Life - Provides financial assistance and related support services to Shelter Islanders (and others on the East End) facing serious illnesses and conditions.

Bereavement Group – Meets in the summer months. The grieving party need not be a spouse, but may be anyone who has been affected by a loss. We will be welcoming new groups this summer and ask interested people to contact Laurie Fanelli at the Senior Center.
