The Town of Shelter Island has partnered with ParkMobile to offer online sales of one-day parking permits.
The Town of Shelter Island restricts parking at many beaches, landings and ramps from May 15th to September 15th annually. Visitors and guests who do not qualify for a free resident permits and do not need weekly, monthly or seasonal permits may purchase a one-day parking permit for use in certain areas.
One-day permits will be offered for use in the permit-required parking areas of the following nine (9) beaches, landings and ramps:
- Wade’s Beach
- Menhaden Lane
- Shell Beach
- Peconic Avenue
- Crescent Beach
- Fresh Pond
- Reel Point
- Bootlegger’s Alley
- Daniel Lord Road
- Hiberry Lane
Visitors and guests will still be able to purchase one-day permits onsite or in advance remotely. Additionally, users will now have the ability to search for alternate locations if their preferred location is already sold out on a given date. The number of one-day permits available varies by location.
Each one-day permit costs $25.00, plus applicable fees and is only valid for the date and location selected. Individuals who already possess a valid resident, weekly, monthly, or seasonal, parking permit do not need to purchase a one-day permit. No permit is required in un-restricted locations.
