Detective Sergeant Thilberg joined the force in 1989 and was promoted to Detective in 1995 and Detective Sergeant in 1998. In addition to serving as the Executive Officer of the Department, D/Sergeant Thilberg is directly responsible for the Criminal Investigations, Juvenile Investigations, Warrants, Property/Evidence, and Special Operations components of the department.
Detective Sergeant Thilberg has received advanced training in various disciplines including sex crimes identification and crime scene procedures, serious and fatal accident investigation, child abuse and neglect investigations, computer and electronic crime investigations, FBI interview and interrogation tactics, and DEA narcotic enforcement school. He serves as the department's training instructor and dive team leader. Detective Sergeant Thilberg is a certified master diver with numerous certifications including law enforcement underwater investigations.
Detective Sergeant Thilberg is a five-time recipient of the Officer of the Year Award.
